On this special occasion I feel those wonderful women being celebrated today are very much deserving of a special post.  Being that I now have this new forum for expression, I felt that it could give me a chance to share some words for the mother’s of the world.  And as well, I wanted to dedicate something for my own dear mother, Barb de Vooght.  This is for you momma…

An Ode to Mother’s Day

You are a very special lady, that was never in doubt,
She raised me from a baby, let me tell you what she’s all about

She is kind, caring, loving, and funny,
She is my favourite, my only, my friend, my mummy,

You made me the person you see today,
You made me everything I am
You made me a person in every way,
You made me a man

You may not like to sing or dance,
But if I ask nicely, you always give it a chance

It’s the little things that make you who you are,
Always knowing and feeling that you are never too far

I wish I could give you flowers to shower you with praise, to remember those days when my emotions are ablaze,
You would simply look me in the eyes, and tell me everything is fine

This is an attempt to express the way I feel,
Use of the written word to express what is real

It is love for a mother, simply like no other

And even though mothers are celebrated only once a year,
In this way, I am trying to say, I love you mom, every single day.
